OneVit Omega 3 Product Information

OneVit Omega 3 is a nutritional supplement that contains 330mg of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and 220mg of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) per serving.

EPA and DHA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids that help prevent joint inflammation, promote cognitive functions, contribute to lower blood triglyceride (fat) levels, and support retinal cell health.

Each serving contains Quantity NRV*
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) 330mg
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) 220mg
* NRV = Nutrient Reference Value
† NRV not established

Omega-3 fatty acids are a type of polyunsaturated fatty acid that cannot be synthesised by the body and must be obtained through food sources or supplements, such as OneVit Omega 3.

Omega-3 fatty acids can be metabolised in the body to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which powers cellular functions.

Omega-3 refers to a group of essential fatty acids, including EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), and ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), which contribute to a number of physical and cognitive functions.

Omega-3 is derived from fish oil, which contains EPA and DHA along with fat and small amounts of other vitamins.

OneVit Omega 3 contains two essential omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, that work together to support heart, brain, joint, and eye health by promoting cellular function and reducing inflammation:

  • EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) - Certain inflammatory compounds, such as cytokines and eicosanoids, can breach arterial walls and contribute to the formation of plaque, causing the arteries to narrow. EPA inhibits the production of these inflammatory compounds, reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes caused by an increase in blood pressure from narrower arteries.
  • DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) - DHA helps maintain membrane fluidity in retinal and brain cells to promote efficient signal transmissions between neurons. This mechanism supports eye health and is also essential for cognitive functions such as memory, learning, and focus. Additionally, DHA supports the growth of new neurons (neurogenesis), which is crucial for maintaining brain plasticity and reducing the risk of neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Heart health - OneVit Omega 3 contains EPA, a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid that helps prevent chronic inflammation, a contributing factor to heart conditions such as cardiovascular disease. OneVit Omega 3 also helps reduce cholesterol levels by lowering triglyceride (fat) levels in the blood, reducing the risk of high blood pressure as a result of the arteries narrowing.
  • Joint health - EPA and DHA help inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and prostaglandins in the body, reducing joint inflammation and subsequently improving joint mobility.
  • Eye health - DHA has been found to promote the function of photoreceptor cells in the retina, which is necessary to maintain signal transmission between the eyes and the brain. This mechanism subsequently contributes to preventing age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and supports long-term eye health.
  • Cognitive support - The DHA fatty acid in OneVit Omega 3 supports certain brain receptors, enhancing communication between neurons to improve key cognitive functions, including memory and focus.

It is recommended to take two softgels of OneVit Omega 3 per day, ensuring consistent use to maximise the positive effects of this supplement.

OneVit Omega 3 begins to work within a few weeks of consistent use. However, the exact time it takes for an individual to experience the desired results can vary depending on:

  • Diet - Omega-3 naturally occurs in various foods, such as fatty fish, flaxseeds and walnuts. Maintaining a balanced diet that includes these omega-3-rich foods can enhance the effects of OneVit Omega 3 and may reduce the time taken to experience the desired results. Conversely, a diet low in omega-3 can slow the body’s ability to reach optimal levels, leading to a slower response to supplementation.
  • Baseline inflammation - OneVit Omega 3 can reduce the body’s levels of inflammatory markers quickly in individuals with a lower baseline (existing) level of inflammation, resulting in a faster and more noticeable reduction in inflammation.

OneVit Omega 3 contains ingredients derived from fish, making it unsuitable for vegans, vegetarians and individuals with a fish allergy.

Individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication should consult a doctor before taking OneVit Omega 3.

The following supplements can complement and amplify the benefits of OneVit Omega 3:

  • OneVit Vitamin D3 and K2 - Vitamin K2 prevents the build-up of calcium in the arteries, while EPA inhibits the release of inflammatory chemicals that can cause plaque build-up in the arteries. The combination of these mechanisms can help maintain healthy blood flow in the body, contributing to heart health.
  • OneVit Turmeric and Black Pepper - Turmeric contains curcumin, a potent anti-inflammatory agent which can work synergistically with OneVit Omega 3 to further reduce inflammation in the body, supporting joint health.
